Flying in the face of fear with Truly Siskind-Weiss

This writer-actor has touched every inch of this event over the past 9 years. From Writer, Actor, Front of House, Intern and Committee Member, Truly makes it happen. CPHQ is so damned excited to bring back her 2018 play, Like A Woman. AND! We get a double-dose of this UK based picker-join us in welcoming her back to the CP stage (thank goodness she can squeeze us in in-between E59E and Edinburgh).

Cherry Picking turns 25 this year - which means it’s due for a quarter-life crisis. What advice would you give to your past or future 25 year old self, or to Cherry Picking right now?

At 28, I'm not sure I have a ton of advice for my 25 year old self. Maybe go to physical therapy now because that tendonitis is only gonna get worse queen.

It’s our Silver Anniversary this year – if you had your own heavy metal band what would you call it?

Truly Damned.

Tell us about the last time you tried something brand new?

My partner and I started going to a salsa dancing class last year and we suck but we love it! He’s always trying to find pop songs we can salsa to now.

What is your CP core memory?

It will always be winning the cherry pie. A life highlight for me. 

If Cherry Picking were a cocktail (or mocktail), what would be in it?

I’m thinking a cherry ginger spritz (with prosecco of course). A little sweet, a little spicy. Or maybe a pitcher of sangria, because it gets you really drunk and you always have it with friends.
