The In-Between with Vince Gatton

Vince Gatton is a Cherry Picker extraordinaire. He has been wow-ing audiences since 2008 and we hope he never stops giving the CP page and stage his all. As a writer and actor, Vince has left quite a mark on CP- and we KNOW we are the lucky ones.

Check out what Vince told us:

What was your first CP year? How were you involved (audience, actor, writer, producer, front of house, tech)?

2006, I think, was my first as an audience member; then in 2008 Tamara Reynolds, Nicole Golden, and Kevin Jones successfully wooed me into joining as an actor; then 2013 was my first time submitting as a writer.

How are you living - if at all - in a liminal space currently?

How are any of us not? We’re all on tenterhooks, dreading the next fresh hell and waiting for This Current Era to end so we can build whatever’s next.

Describe a time when you had absolutely no idea what would happen next?

I was 27 years old, and living unhappily in LA. I sold my car for the money to buy a plane ticket back to New York, where I had lived only briefly and no longer had a job or apartment, but had always been where I wanted to be. It was a terrifying leap of faith. It all worked out.

What’s worse: the moment after a sharp inhale or before a long sigh?

<insert meme of Jenna Fisher as Pam in The Office saying “It’s the same picture”>

You’re stuck between two people in the middle seat on an airplane, buckled up for a long flight. Who are your ideal OR nightmare seatmates?

Ideal: people who couldn’t pick me out out of a lineup any more than I could them, because we never even see each other’s faces. Nightmare: chit-chatters.

Ice cream sandwich or deli sandwich? (Be specific)

It’s very possible I’m too online.

Don’t miss Vince’s newest play, Courage Lads, featured on Tuesday, July 14th.
