The In-Between with Laura Gourdine

Laura IS Cherry Picking. She’s been giving the Pick more than we could ask for in 10+ years on-stage as an actor, off-stage as a committee member and everything in between. Laura is a winner and we could not be more certain that her sandwich is a winner too.

What was your first CP year? How were you involved (audience, actor, writer, producer, front of house, tech)?

2015 as an actor, I think.

How are you living - if at all - in a liminal space currently?

I had to look up this concept and I’m still not sure I really understand it, but I think my answer is that I’m in a state of uncertainty.

Describe a time when you had absolutely no idea what would happen next?

When my father passed away, I felt untethered. Deep down, I knew life would move forward, but since he was always my anchor, I wasn’t sure how.

What’s worse: the moment after a sharp inhale or before a long sigh?

Sharp inhale because it often happens due to being shocked, whereas a long sigh is a release.

You’re stuck between two people in the middle seat on an airplane, buckled up for a long flight. Who are your ideal OR nightmare seatmates?

- a snorer would be a nightmare seatmate

- someone who’s polite and occasionally converses but not once the lights are dimmed.

Deli sandwich: toasted multi-grain bread, swiss, provolone or smoked gouda, cucumber, tomato, and mayo (not too much).
