The In-Between with Matthew Palmer

Matthew Palmer joins us for his very first CP and we can't wait to welcome him into the Pick. Stepping into his post as our Tech Supervisor, Matthew brings a bounty of Wild Project might. We don't know what Matthew's next chapter of thriving looks like- but we are sure glad he chose CP to be a part of any leg of his journey!

What was your first CP year? How were you involved (audience, actor, writer, producer, front of house, tech)?

This will be my first CP year!  I'm doing tech for the show.  Kia, unfortunately, couldn't make it this year, so I'm stepping in for her!

How are you living - if at all - in a liminal space currently?

I feel like the liminal space I'm living in is the space between surviving and thriving.  I've spent so much of my life in survival mode (as many of us have, I feel), and I've very much moved out of that space, but am still processing what comes next and what thriving ultimately looks like to me.

Describe a time when you had absolutely no idea what would happen next?

Honestly, moving to NYC!  I moved here shortly after graduating college, and really didn't have a plan at all.  I had an apartment secured, a very small savings, and not much else.  But I've been here for almost 15 years now, so I'd say it's worked out pretty well overall!

What’s worse: the moment after a sharp inhale or before a long sigh?

Sharp inhale, I think.  I don't really have a clear reason why, that answer just feels right to me.

You’re stuck between two people in the middle seat on an airplane, buckled up for a long flight. Who are your ideal OR nightmare seatmates?

Ideal.....maybe basic, but I'd probably say the singer and guitarist from my favorite band (whose names may not be entirely recognizable to most).  In a practical sense, they're both fairly petite and don't take up a lot of space.  But also, the conversations would be everything.

Ice cream sandwich or deli sandwich? (Be specific)

Ice cream sandwich!  Specifically Van Leeuwen's vegan Snickerdoodle Honeycomb ice cream sandwich.  It's their honeycomb ice cream between 2 soft-baked snickerdoodle cookies, and it is HEAVENLY!
