The In-Between with Erin Mallon

Erin is a CP homerun hitter. It's hard to remember a time when Erin wasn't on the CP page (she also had a brief stint on our stage too!). With Mallon in the house, life is always exciting.

What was your first CP year? How were you involved (audience, actor, writer, producer, front of house, tech)?

That is an excellent question. I need to go back into my emails to answer this one. <does quick email search> 2013! I was involved as a playwright for the first time. I believe it was my play "Stubble" where Nicole Golden and Chris Tomaino played middle school english teachers who finally act on their pent up longings for each other under the juice table at a 7th grade dance.

How are you living - if at all - in a liminal space currently?

Literally, right this second, I am on an airplane hurtling through the sky. If that's not liminal, I don't know what is. 

Describe a time when you had absolutely no idea what would happen next?

On my college graduation day, I packed up my car, broke up with my boyfriend, left my parents' home for good and drove to NYC to live on my own and start my life as a creative person. It felt very precarious. And exciting. And cinematic if I do say so myself.   

What’s worse: the moment after a sharp inhale or before a long sigh?

I take constant sharp inhales, because I'm very easily spooked. My poor husband has to find fancy ways to announce his presence in our house because I always think he's an intruder. So... I'm used to that moment? Hence, I'll go with the moment before a long sigh. That's worse.

You’re stuck between two people in the middle seat on an airplane, buckled up for a long flight. Who are your ideal OR nightmare seatmates?

First of all, I never let this happen. (#windowseatforlife) However, if I did get stuck in the middle seat, it would be magical to be between Jean Valjean and Javert from Les Miserables as they sing "The Confrontation." I used to perform both parts in my living room when I was 8 (a real Jekyll and Hyde moment!) and would thoroughly enjoy being serenaded. 

Ice cream sandwich or deli sandwich? (Be specific)

Both delicious, but ice cream sandwiches all the way. Ever tried Peace Pie in Cape May? Treat yoself!
